Introducton

In the articles below we lay out our multi-decade history; the evolution of our take on the nature of the physician’s current business environment; the progress of our efforts through our long association with our clients to meaningfully address these problems; up to and including a description of Encoda’s unique, patent-pending processes that have recently been enabled by HIPAA’s adoption of X12 billing standards—processes have already yielded dramatic financial gains for its early adopters. This paper is neither politic, short nor simple but neither are the persistent problems that have bedeviled doctors and evaded solution for these same number of decades.

Today’s Holy Grail:

The quest for the Holy Grail has until now been a wild goose chase. Interestingly, despite the roughly two thousand years that intrepid seekers have failed to find it, nothing seems to dampen its allure. There is something inherently compelling about the notion… read more…

Do Not Follow the Pea:

You are told that in order to seek redress with a payer you have to appeal a claim. Wrong. As a matter of fact it is impossible to obtain redress one claim at a time. How could it be otherwise when the cost to seek redress of one claim at a time nearly equals, equals or exceeds the reward? Do not follow the Pea. The Pea cannot be tracked. That is the soul purpose of the Pea… read more…

The Physician Back Office and Five Card Stud:

The healthcare industry is a multi trillion dollar industry. Not surprisingly most medical care is provided by doctors. Yet, shockingly, of the 700,000 or so doctors in the United States there are fewer than 1,500 practices that have more than 25 providers.  Cher has more outfits than that. Doctors are forced to be players in card game the only rule of which is that they lose… read more…

A Solution:

You cannot solve a problem until you identify what the problem really is. There is nothing more seductive than attempting to solve a problem you do not have. If problems marched obediently to their solutions they would not be problems… read more…

Community

Our structure and intention is that we, you, and all of our clients are a community.  We do not want to keep you apart; we try to get you together. On many levels.  Franklin said we must all hang together or assuredly we will all hang separately.  What we have accomplished we have accomplished in concert with our clients.  In a good relationship both parties learn and profit from the other.  Sounds a bit 60′s and fruity, but it is true.
